Making A Plan For A Christian Business Development Endeavor

By Elena McDowell

Doing a Christian business development endeavor is pretty much the same as doing a normal business development plan but it is slightly more difficult. Of course just like any venture, there is always the planning process that cannot be avoided. Now if one would want to start something in this line, then here are the steps on how.

Of course the very first step would be to think of what kind of store would be set up. Of course before setting up the store, the owner must speak with the church if he would want the support of the church in his endeavor. Take note that the vision and mission of the store has to be in line with the ideologies and teachings of the Bible.

One way to come up with a great idea for a store would be to subscribe to a Christian Business newspaper that most church provides or read up on some journals. These readings will help one be able to get in touch with what the latest trends are in the world of Christianity. From there, he will be able to get an idea on how he is going to move.

Another thing to do in order to get more inspiration would be to research on the internet. Since the internet connects to all parts of the world, then one will have an edge by getting ideas from an international point of view as well. Of course since there are many Christians all over the world, they will be able to give good insights.

Next on the list of things to do would be to make a business plan so that he knows what framework to follow. Unlike a regular plan, the owner will be involving partners like the church and its people. However, it is is like a normal plan in a sense that it has all of the essential elements in it.

The first part to deal with would be the executive summary. The executive summary includes the objective of the store as well as the list of products. It will also give a short insight on what the industry is like. This is pretty much the overview of what is going to happen with the store.

In regular businesses, the partners would be investors or owners of other businesses. However, in this type of enterprise, the partners would obviously be the people of the church or even the church itself. Of course other partners may include friends or even relatives.

Now although the main target of this type of enterprise are the Christians, this group has to be specified even more. He has to break his target market down to social class and age group. By knowing the market segmentation, one will how to make the marketing plan in the future.

Lastly, one would have to create a budget for his Christian business development endeavor. Now creating a plan for this type of venture is very much like a regular business with just slight differences. One just always has to remember to align his store with his beliefs otherwise his purpose will be defeated.
