Push-ups are an oldie-but-goodie for getting the jiggle out of your triceps. Rather than doing regular push-ups, you can spot-tone the triceps by rotating your hands inward 45 degrees; your fingertips should be facing those of the opposite hand. This targeted push-up exercise will strengthen and tone those hard-to-reach triceps like no other exercise out there.

To lower injury risk, make sure you have proper form when walking. You should walk upright and make sure your shoulders are draw back. Let your elbows fall at roughly a ninety degree angle. You should swing your arms in a rhythm opposite that of your front foot. Let your heel hit the ground and the rest of your food roll when you step.

One way to quickly build up strength in your legs is to do "wall sits." Before you begin, make sure to find a wall that is wide enough to accommodate the width of your body. Then position yourself about eighteen inches away from the wall, with your back to it. Lean back against the wall and bend your knees. You should then bend the knees until the thighs and the ground are parallel and your body is in a seated position. Try to hold this position as long as possible.

Always work out in comfortable clothes. If you workout in public, you may be tempted to dress for the benefit of others. Resist that temptation. Wear clothes that are easy to move around in so that you won't feel embarrassed. Wearing the correct clothing helps you put your emphasis on working out, not on your clothes.

If you would like to run like a champion, think about working out like the Kenyan's do. Kenyan runners begin their training with a slow run for one third of the total running time. Then, once you've been running for a while, slowly crank up the pace. While you are in the middle third, increase your pace to run at normal speed. By the time you are in your last third, you should run quickly. If this is done regularly, you will see differences in your endurance and speed.

Lift weights to help you run. Lifting weights help build strength. If you are a runner, then you are going to want to consider weight lifting to improve your speed and endurance.

Keep up your workout routine on the weekends. A lot of people think that they can take weekends off from working out, and dieting, but this is not the case. Your fitness program should be implemented every day during the week for maximum results. Do not waste the weekend only to have to catch up later.

Stretching is a key ingredient to every fitness program. All of your muscles should be stretched pre- and post-workout. An injury could be a result from inadequate strectching. Stretching is important both before and after your workout.

Weight belts were once considered a must have when lifting weights, but people now realize that it's probably best to save them for the more challenging weights. Constant use of a weight belt can be harmful, in the long run. Wearing a weight belt too often can reduce the strength of the muscles in the lower back and abdomen.

No matter what your fitness goal is, the advice shared here can help you. Take the tips that fir you best and incorporate them into your routine. By saving time out of your day for fitness, you will obtain long-term benefits.
