In many lines of work, sometimes it's all about what you're born with as opposed to what you can pick up on over the course of time. It's possible that you simply have a more outgoing personality than others or maybe it's the look that will be the deciding factor more than anything else. However, does this stand as the case for every line of work? I suppose it's worth looking into every line of work imaginable, especially the type that is associated with Alec Sohmer.
To say that there are certain aspects of character that cannot be attained is most likely an understatement. You may be able to grow with what you have been given from birth but not everyone is going to have the same naturally thick skin that can come in handy when criticism rains down. They have to be able to exercise this aspect when working with clients and debtors while remaining impartial. As you can see, there are some aspects that simply cannot be learned or taught.
However, what about the information that is collected as you progress in life; you will find yourself learning more and more as you go along? It's the same thing as school; you're not going to know everything about life, meaning that you will have to be taught. The same can be about collecting debt, as there are many guidelines that deserve to have attention placed on them. Without taking the time to learn, it's unlikely that you will be able to operate well in this line of work.
For example, no one is going to be able to pick up on all of the details associated with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act unless they are willing to learn. This means that they will have to learn more so that they will perform effectively in the line of work that Alec Sohmer has been involved in. Without having such a mindset, it's unlikely that you will be able to pick up on the appropriate amount of information. There is more to learn, though, before you look into names like Sohmer.
As you can tell, there's a great deal of importance that comes with learning about a line of work. In fact, I think that most jobs are ones that you can succeed at if you are willing to put in the utmost effort. That being said, there are certain personality traits which either has to become developed or simply be there at birth. Without such traits, one has to be curious as to whether or not this quality of work is going to stand with the utmost strength.
