They selected Lone Frandsen to fashion a unique range of jewellery for them.
By 1987 the corporation moved from overseas back to Denmark. Per and Winnie thought it best to re-establish themselves with headquarters in of Copenhagen. Also in this year Pandora chose to finish all retailing. This suggested that Pandora was purely a jewellery producer and wholesale provider.
Pandora obtained an additional jewellery designer named Lisbeth En Larsen in 1996. She operated alongside Lone Frandsen. Together they helped create and define a style of jewellery unlike any that had been seen before. This would become synonymous with the Pandora brand.
Pandora's real breakthrough came in the year 2000This was the year they unveiled their first range of charms and charm bracelets. The timing for this was absolutely perfect because charms were beginning to become popular again. Pandora marketed their charms with the slogan, "one charm for every unforgettable moment in your life." The charms themselves were composed of precious metals like gold and silver. They even produced a range of highly colourful glass charms. These were handmade in the famous island of Island of Murano in Italy. The charms were a huge hit with customers. They were taken with the vast array of different designs on offer. In addition, the charms were well made, but reasonable priced.
An added benefit was that each charm was crafted using Pandora's branded threading technique. This meant that every charm must be screwed over the end of the Pandora bracelet to successfully attach it. This proved to be a wise move by Pandora. It ensured that customers had to use Pandora charms on their Pandora bracelet. This guaranteed their loyalty to the brand.
