How To Get Good At Betfair Trading - Fast

By Richard Fletcher

When it comes to getting good at trading horse races on Betfair, there are 2 key elements to getting good quickly, in my opinion.

Number 1 is quite simply experience. The more knowledgeable you are in any field, the more of an expert you will be. It doesn't matter which field you choose to earn your trade in, the more experienced you are, the better you will be at it. Too many people are trying to get good at Betfair Trading by trying one system after another, without ever committing to, and sticking with one thing, and making it their business to become an absolute master in that area.

Most people think of experience as the amount of time that has passed since they started learning. I prefer to look at it as the number of horse races you've seen in that time. If you've seen 1000 in a month, that's the same for me as seeing 1000 in a year.

If you work full time you can get your 1000 races experience in just 1 month, but a man taking in ten races every week will take a whole two years to get to the same point. Why not try to get the experience as quickly as you can?

Secondly, you have to try and learn something from each race. If you just try the same tactics on every single race, you are simply experiencing the same race 1000 times. You have to sit there and ask yourself what you can learn what you just witnessed. If the odds went unexpectedly against you, can you figure out why? If they went in your favour, do you know why? If you know why, this is key - otherwise you are relying on luck, and in essence you are therefore gambling and not trading.

Don't get tempted to get all frustrated and blame the market for your own poor performance. Take all the responsibility for your own results. Get tough on yourself, and learn the harsh lessons quickly. This is sometimes tough, but entirely necessary.
