Looking Younger In 5 Easy Steps

By Rhonda Seriana

It is inevitable that our skin will start to sag and wrinkle, as our muscles lose their tone, when we get older. It can be distressing when these changes, which are a natural result of ageing, make us appear much older than our actual age! In addition to just age causing these changes, there are a number of external factors that play a role in damaging the skin and leading to early onset of age-related changes.

Good skin care however, will ensure a youthful appearance for many years to come. These tips will help you do this.

1. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables

The antioxidants found in fresh fruits and vegetables fight the free radicals that form in the body due to exposure to pollutants and toxins. These free radicals are not only responsible for the changes seen in the body due to ageing, but they can destroy the skin cells, and some even cause certain types of cancer. Consuming vitamin C and vitamin E rich foods can counteract these free radicals, neutralizing them and preventing them from attacking the cells and leading to an early onset of ageing.

2. Wear sunscreen

Protect the skin from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays with sunscreen containing sun protection factors. Certain forms of skin cancer from constant exposure can be caused by these UV rays that damage skin cells. Help keep the skin younger by protecting the skin with sunscreens with a high SPF.

3. Face scrubs

Face scrubs keep the skin healthy because their tiny particles gently exfoliate the surface layers of the skin, allowing new skin cells to form. These products also have mild skin cleansers to wash dirt and bacteria out of the skin's pores, which prevents acne and keeps the skin healthy.

4. Botox injections

All over the world these days, botox injections are often used to have younger looking skin in just minutes. By blocking the nerves that supply the facial muscles and skin, they improve skin tone and make lines and wrinkles disappear. Safe and effective, it is the preferred treatment for staying young. Affordable treatment also make this a sought after option for younger looking skin.

5. Get enough sleep

Sleep plays an important role in maintaining our health, there is no doubt about that, and our youthful looks are no exception. Not only does a good night's rest 'reset' the body's functions, but skin rejuvenation takes place when we are sleeping. Weight gain and low immunity are also associated with a lack of sleep.

There are a number of different ways to look and stay young. Although they are just the tip of the iceberg, if the 5 methods above are strictly observed, they can help one stay youthful for ages.
