Antique clocks are one of the most precious items that a family can inherit from their great grand parents. This is a one in a million item that can never be bought in a cheap price. Polishing also helps a lot in maintaining your priceless treasure. You can buy over the counter polishers that are very effective in removing the dirt in lacquer. They are not pricey and its price will depend on the size that you will be buying. This is not very much needed but this is good for the finish.
