During the ancient biblical times, the head wear was worn to symbolize self respect, dignity and authority, just like in the Arab and Indian world. There are different sizes of the turban available in the market. The variation in size of people wearing them has facilitated the manufacture of different turbans with varying range of sizes to fit every individual. There are small sizes that are designed for children. There are also those which are meant for the middle aged and adults.

There are numerous advantages that come with wearing the turban. One of the major merits associated with this head-wear is that it protects people from the scorching heat of the sun. The turbans can also be used in practical occasions. For instance, people who travel in desert use them as pillows, towels or blankets.
