Social Media Marketing Pointers That Will Change Your Game

By Simon Graetnuf

More and more people are using social networks. You may be surprised, in fact, as to how many of your existing customers are on these sites. So, your business should also be involved in social media. Discover which social media sites are of the most interest to your customers, and get your business branded on them immediately. WIthout it, you are missing opportunities to build deeper relationships with current customers, and to find new customers that may have never heard of your business before.

Remember to speak to your potential customers as people. You may run a business or corporation; however, this does not mean you need to speak like one. Trust is built from personal relationships. If your potentials see you as a person who cares about their needs and how your product meets them, it will go a long way in establishing this trust.

If Twitter is one of the components of your social media marketing plan, come up with tweets that are detailed and discuss different things. Offer advice and suggestions of interest to your customers via Twitter. Some of your tweets, of course, will be more bold in their promotion of your business. If you mix in informative tweets you will be less likely to run away potential customers.

If you are using social media to promote your product and you have written a blog post, have it posted to your Facebook page as well. This way, everyone that is on your friends list has access to your blog post. The same holds true for other social network sites.

In order to achieve the best possible results, create links to tie everything together. Put links in place on your blog that allow readers to follow your Twitter comments, view your YouTube videos and "like" your Facebook page. On Twitter, include in your profile a URL that links to your Facebook page and blog. When you come up with different types of links in social media, you help to generate a larger customer base.

Even though social media sites have altered the communication landscape, remaining professional is still a great behavioral habit. Always use a professional sounding introduction, even when it is a personal intro. Do not allow yourself to engage in an online argument; however, you may choose to delete comments that are inappropriate or misleading. Also, consider establishing a separate profile in your own name, so you can interact online with your friends.

To make sure your social marketing campaign is reaching your customers, find out where they congregate. Are many of them on Facebook or do they prefer Twitter? Depending on your niche, you might be better off looking at LinkedIn or even YouTube. Poll your customers and find out where they spend their internet hours. Pitch your tent there.

You must identify your target audience or you will fail at marketing through social media. Learn why the customers use social networking, how long they use it each day and what types of content they prefer.

Try to test and experiment with new and different social media marketing techniques and opportunities. There are literally thousands of different ideas to increasing your social media presence and boosting your marketing online. If you get stuck in one simple strategy, you may be missing out on a new technique that could significantly help your business.

Now that you have a better idea about how you can become successful with social media marketing you should start to feel more optimistic about your future success. Just try your best to learn as much as you can and to apply all of the knowledge you learn and you should reach any goals you have with social media marketing.
