Is A Young Woman A Better Car Salesman?

Salesmen have been known for being slick and dishonest. Such movies as Used Cars, and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, give the impression that the only way to sell a car is to use trickery or some form of deceptiveness. Of course any car dealerships have done little to counter that perception. For a long time, car salesmen have been earning their bread through commissions. If there were no commissions, then there was no way that you could earn a living therefore making it necessary to find it by any means.

The old adage let the buyer beware has been the watchword for many years. The idea was, was looking for a car, especially a used one, you had to know your stuff and make sure the person you're working with has your best interest at heart.

Though most car salesmen are not what they are perceived to be, there are enough of this type that should make you wary when looking for your car. There are several types of car salesmen ranging from smooth operators to straight to the point type of salesmen. Though there are others that withhold information if you do not dare ask. Also, there are women car salesmen alongside men. Do women make better car salesmen?

It is a fact that many women are not for the idea to find a car using a salesman. Though, they might change their minds if the salesman turns out to be a woman. After all they reason she must understand what I'm going through.

Additionally, women seem to have a softer approach. That tends to draw people in rather than send them off running. And in many cases, this is led to far more sales to women.

Women are good listeners as they also seek attention. This is the reason women prefer dealing with their counterparts.

Another consideration is the put down most women feel when the male salesman says "shouldn't your husband me with you?" Women salesmen do not do that. This does not happen with women salesmen. They suppose you are in the know of what you want when you come to the lot to get a car. Additionally, these women have been through this and understand what you are going through.

Women put their trust in other women and feel that they understand each other. Empathy is one thing that is very significant when it comes to sales. Sales come down to emotions and women get more emotional than men.

Many men deal with women salesmen. They are less threatened by women salesmen as they assume they know more than them. This comes to an advantage to women salesmen who just want to earn an honest day's pay and do a good job.
