Rhinestone Crowns Have Been Very Well Know Through The Ages

By Susan Dawson

Glass pebbles along the Rhine River in Austria were found many years ago. The rhinestone was named after the river where it was found. Since then many rhinestone crowns have been created by jewelry manufactures throughout the world. They are a work of art and many hours are spent creating these crowns.

Austria produces some of the most exquisite crystals. The rhinestone was first discovered in the Rhine River in Austria. They were soon depleted when the demand for them overtook supply.

Each birthday month has a specific gemstone dedicated to it. A few of them are Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby. Opal and Pearl. The lucky month for some is April to which the Diamond is dedicated and it would be difficult for a man to give a pearl to a lady whose stone is the expensive diamond.

Debutante balls, end of school farewell balls and even pageants for young budding beauty queens all have a hint of glitter with tiara's, headbands with crystals and other adornment to be worn in their hair. A diamond tiara is worn by the winner of the Miss World competition. The fashion world exhibit diamonds, crystals and jewels when the models step out on the catwalk or pose for the camera's at the fashion shows.

These days little girls get to see them on TV watching all the classic films. The older girls spend hours watching fashion, make over and modeling shows and many aspire to join the fashion industry. It all looks easy and fun but few of them realize the hours of work, the strict diets and the discipline required to be part of that industry.

Trendy magazines make the most of the festive season going all out to attract customers. It is a real temptation to spend just that little extra on a gift for Christmas. Men too love diamonds and can be seen with perhaps one subtle diamond or gemstone in a wedding ring. They are just as fashion conscious as women and often spend a lot more on their wardrobes than women do.

Often when they finally arrived at their destinations they were devastated to find that the men who had got there before them had mined all that there was to be found. Until someone came into the small town and told of another place that diamonds or gold had been discovered. Once again they would go charging off, sometimes leaving families behind to find their illusive fortune.

Gems are found in many different colors and manufacturers can change the color by using paste behind the stone. Gold, silver or platinum settings can be used when designing rhinestone crowns. The metal used to display the stones plays an important role in the finished product that will adorn the heads of many a famous person.
