How To Come Up With Your Own Rhinestone Earrings

By Georgia Diaz

Rhinestone earrings are very appealing. Most people especially ladies are enthusiastic about acquiring them. This is because they have the appearance of diamonds. Though they look very expensive, they are quite easy to make. There are several designs that you can choose to make. You can come up with anything from chandelier to stud earrings. The kind of design you make will depend on your imagination as well as the money you have.

You need to buy many rhinestones for the exercise. You can either find several large stones or many small ones. To get the pieces together you need a good adhesive. Choose the kind of design you want to come up with. If you are making a stud you can choose a large piece for the middle section and several small ones to form a circle around it.

Another way is to pick a square stone and place different colored stones in the center of that bigger square one. To ensure that the pieces stick together it is important to use hot glue. If your design involves several stones you should begin with the biggest. Add the small pieces to the large one after you have applied glue.

Ensure that you use enough glue. Allow enough time for it to dry if you want your earring to hold together for long. Wipe out all the glue that you do not need. If you want to make earrings that dangle from the ears you should follow different steps. You need to find a wire as well as more stones.

Make a row on the metal wire. The length of the beads that you place on the wire will determine the length of the jewel. If you want to make it longer or shorter you can add or remove the beads. Increase the number of rows on both sides of the wire. Use the recommended adhesive to glue everything together. Cut down on the stones at the ends if you want to create tapered ends.

Increase the number of rows till you get to the edge. You can use banded rhinestones to make a row on top of the wire. To make the earring look fuller add small pieces where there are spaces. Add glue at the back of the earring and press it against the rhinestones and the wire. Any glue that is in excess should be removed.

It is advisable to use flat-back rhinestones when making an earring. This is because it easy to apply glue on these stones. They are also available in a wide range of colors. Choosing the right adhesive is very important. If you choose the wrong glue your earring might fall apart after some time. Clean surfaces that need glue applied on them. It is also important to place rhinestones on areas that are dry and clean.

You can use any kind of metal for the back section of an earring. Ensure that you use stones that are bigger in size so that the back side is covered completely. Rhinestone earrings have the same appearance as diamonds. The only difference is that they are more affordable.
