By James Kupe

One of the common signs we are getting older is when we start to develop a the dreaded sagging or double chin. As humans age, our skin becomes less elastic than it was when we were younger due to a decreasing amount of collagen and elastin. Carrying a few extra pounds can also be a cause of this sometimes embarrassing facial feature.

The good news for most people is that a sagging chin doesn't have to be permanent, because there are several things you can do to gently tighten the skin beneath your chin. Making a few simple adjustments to your lifestyle can help you to have a good-looking, slender chin in just a few weeks. Here are three tips you can use right now to start making this happen.

Tip 1 - Begin By Eating a Healthier Diet

If some of your favorite foods are cheeseburgers, chips, soda, crackers and other types of fast food, it's probably one of the causes of your sagging chin. We all know these salty, fatty, processed foods bad for us, but they also have a very damaging affect on the health of your skin.

Start eating fresh, organic foods such as fruits and vegetables. Drink only water or unsweetened tea to keep the skin hydrated and firm. You'll see a difference in the health of your skin and weight in a matter of weeks.

Tip 2 - Get More Exercise

Engaging in regular exercise is an important part of helping to get rid of a sagging or double chin. exercising every couple of days will burn off fat and firm up your body (and your chin). One exercise that is specifically designed to fix a sagging chin is called the double chin workout. You can start this exercise by fist of all placing your body in a comfortable position.

Then carefully tilt your head back as far as you can without putting undue strain on your neck. While in this position, open and close your mouth by moving your lower jaw. You'll start to feel your neck muscles being stretched as you repeat this exercise and open and close your mouth. Hold your mouth closed for several seconds and then repeat up to 10 times several times a day. Cardio workouts along with strength training can also help you to get the most out of your exercise sessions.

Tip 3 - Apply A Good Quality Cream

There has been a lot of work done on creating topical creams and remedies that are good at firming up a sagging chin. Make sure you know what ingredients have been used in the cream you choose because you don't want to be using harsh chemicals on your skin. Creams that include plant extracts and ingredients such as yeast extract, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera extract, and soy protein are good for your skin.

By making some of these small changes, such as modifying your diet and getting a bit of exercise, you have a good chance of reducing or even removing that sagging chin. The key point is to continue with these healthy habits, and you'll be able to keep your skin healthy and firm for the rest of your life.
